Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
All parties involved in the publishing process must adhere to expected standards of ethical behavior (author, journal editor, reviewer, and publisher). Osmaniye Korkut Ata University Journal of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences follows the practices determined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) on ethical issues, errors and withdrawals.

Editorial process:

Manuscripts sent to the journal for evaluation are reviewed by the editor/assistant editor within one week for compliance with format requirements. The editor/assistant editor is responsible for sending the manuscripts to two expert referees who will manage the evaluation process. They are also responsible for establishing a dialogue between the referee and the author.
In addition to the referee decisions, the editor/assistant editor has the right to check whether the relevant corrections have been made in the study.
The editor and/or editorial board has the right to reject the article from the first date of receipt to the last stage of publication.
The editor and/or editorial board also fulfills:
• the task of maintaining processes without compromising intellectual property rights and ethical standards,
• its duty to show openness and transparency in publications on issues that require correction and explanation.

Referee process:

Studies in the nature of research-review articles, excluding studies such as book review/criticism and a letter to the editor sent for publication in our journal, are sent to two separate referees who are experts in their fields in line with the requirements of double blind refereeing system.

Referees encourage reviewers to evaluate the work in an impartial, scientific and objective language.

In order for a study to be published, the positive opinion of both the referees and the journal editor is required.
