Maternal Vitamin B12 Eksikliğinin Neden Olduğu Nörolojik Bulgularda Bilinmeyen Faktörlerin Rolü Olabilir mi?:Olgu Sunumu

Abstract

Vitamin B12, hücre siklusunda önemli görevleri olan, DNA sentezinde gerekli, sinir sisteminde myelin ve lipid metabolizmasında rol oynayan bir vitamindir. Vitamin B12 eksikliğine bağlı süt çocuğunun nütrisyonel megaloblastik anemisi anneye veya çocuğa bağlı nedenlerle oluşabilir. Burada değişik nörolojik bulguları olan megaloblastik anemili 3 süt çocuğu sunulmuştur. Değişik nörolojik semptom ve bulgularla başvurabilen vitamin B12 eksikliği olgularında vitamin B12'nin ne kadar süre ile ve ne seviyede düşük olmasının nörolojik bulgulara yol açtığı sorusu yanıtsızdır. Biz süt çocukluğu döneminde maternal, bebeğe bağlı nut-risyonel ve/veya bu iki nedenin birlikteliği ile ortaya çıkan 3 megaloblastik anemili süt çocuğunda, megaloblastik anemi ve beraberinde ortaya çıkabilen nörolojik bulguları vurgulamayı hedefledik. Üç süt çocuğunda da vitamin B12 düşüklüğünün derecesinden bağımsız nörolojik bulgular gözlemledik ve sonuçta megaloblastik anemi ile nörolojik bulgular arasındaki ilişkiyi netleştiren hayvan deneylerine ihtiyaç olduğu kanısına vardık. Are There Unknown Factors Which Play a Part in Neurologic Findings Caused by Maternal Vitamin B12 Beficiency Vitamin B12 has important functions in cell cycle and it is essential for DNA synthesis and it plays a part in myelinisation and lipid metabolism of nervous system. Infantile nutritional megaloblastic anemia occurs due to both maternal and infantile causes. In here we presented three infants with megaloblastic anemia and who have different neurologic findings. Vitamin B12 deficiency causes different signs and symptoms but, the question that how much depth and length of vitamin B12 deficiency causes neurologic findings is not answered. We presented three infants with megaloblastic anemia caused by maternal and/or infantile causes and we want to emphasize neurologic manifestations. We observed that neurologic signs are independent from VB12 level. In a conclusion further animal experiments which explain the correlation between megaloblastic anemia and neurologic manifestations are needed.
