Abstract
Histopathological investigation of the maxillary sinus cyst.
✓ The etiopathogenesis of maxillary sinus mucosal cysts, mentioned frequently in the litera¬ture is littel known. In order to shade light of their occurance, cyst walls were investigated his-topathologically in 20 maxillary mucosal cyst cases, and sinus ostia were observed during re¬moval. Subepithelial mononuclear cell infiltrations, surface epithelium and goblet cells were examined, and the role of allergic aetiology was discussed in the light of the literature.
✓ Literatürde sıklıkla bahsedilen maksiller sinüs mukozal kistlerinin etyopatogenezi
hakkında çok az şey bilinmektedir. Bu kistlerin oluşumunu aydınlatmak amacıyla 20 mak-
siller sinüs mukozal kist olgusunda kist çeperi histopatolojik olarak incelenmiş, kistin
çıkarılması sırasında sinüs ostiumu değerlendirilmiştir. -
Subepitelyal hücre infiltrasyonlan, yüzeyel epitel ve goblet hücreleri incelenmiş, allerjik etyolojinin rolü literatür ışığında tartışılmıştır.
