Fifteen non-infected patients undergoing transurethral surgery were given 2 gr./ day sodium ceftizoxime up to the removal of their Foley catheters whereas fifteen cases in the control were administered 1 gr.i.v sodium ceftizoxime immediately before and 6 hours after operation The efficiacy of these two different antibiotic regimens on prevention of postoperative infection has been compared

Transüretral cerrahi girişim uygulanan nonenfekte 15 has¬taya Foley kateterleri çekilinceye kadar günlük total 2 gr kontrol grubundaki 15 hastaya ise toplam 2 gr sodyum seftizoksim verildi. Bu iki farklı doz uygulamasının transüretral cerrahide postoperatif enfeksiyon gelişme riski üzerine etkileri karşılaştırıldı.
