Business Regulations and Entrepreneurial Activity: A Causality Analysis for BRICS Economies

Year 2023, Volume: 10 Issue: 1, 175 - 188, 02.01.2023

Abstract

Entrepreneurial activity is an important source firm growth, economic growth and development. This study investigates the interaction among business regulation, administrative requirements, start-up regulations, and entrepreneurial activity in BRICS economies over the 2002-2019 period through causality analysis. Panel level causality unveils a unidirectional causality from business regulations and administrative requirements to the entrepreneurial activity. However, a significant causality between start-up regulations and entrepreneurial activity is not determined. Furthermore, causal interaction among business regulations, administrative requirements, start-up regulations, and entrepreneurial activity differs among the countries.

İşletmelere Yönelik Düzenlemeler ve Girişimcilik Faaliyeti: BRICS Ekonomileri için Bir Nedensellik Analizi

Year 2023, Volume: 10 Issue: 1, 175 - 188, 02.01.2023
