Ani işitme kaybi sonuçlarimiz ve kurtarma tedavisinde hiperbarik oksijenin yeri

Year 2016, Volume: 8 Issue: 4, 190 - 194, 29.11.2016

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmada ani
işitme kaybı tanısı konulan hastalara uyguladığımız tedaviler sonuçlarıyla
sunulmuştur.

Yöntem
ve Gereçler:
2014-
2015 yılları arasında ani işitme kaybı tanısı konulan 19’ u (%54) erkek, 16’ sı
(%46) kadın 35 hasta çalışmaya alındı. Tüm hastalara aynı medikal tedavi
protokolu uygulandı. Beşinci gün sonunda işitmede düzelme olmayan hastalar
hiperbarik oksijen tedavisine yönlendirildi. Sonuçta işitme kaybı, iyileşme
düzeyine göre sınıflandırıldı.

Bulgular:
Hastaların
yaşları 25-54 arasında, ortanca yaş 39,514 (± 8,139) idi. Tedavinin 1.  gününde çekilen odiometride 7 hastanın (%20)
eşiklerinde belirgin düzelme görüldü.
Hiperbarik oksijen tedavisi (HBO2) alan 11 hastanın (%31) 10’
unda (%91) orta düzeyde iyileşme, toplamda 17 hastada  (%49) tam iyileşme, 6 hastada (%17) belirgin
iyileşme, 10 hastada (%28) orta iyileşme düzeyi
görüldü. 1 hastada (%2) ise iyileşme olmadı.

Sonuçlar:

Hastaların tamamına yakınında
uygulanan tedavi protokolünden yarar sağladığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca prognozdaki
yararı göz ardı edilmeksizin HBO2, tedavinin erken yada geç oduğuna
bakılmaksızın streoide ek olarak kullanılmasını önermekteyiz.

Our results on sudden hearing loss and hyperbaric oxygen therapy role in recovery

Year 2016, Volume: 8 Issue: 4, 190 - 194, 29.11.2016

Abstract

Objective: In this study, we
describe the treatments applied to patients diagnosed with sudden hearing loss
along with the observed treatment results.

Materials
and Methods:

A total of 35 patients diagnosed with sudden hearing loss between 2014 and
2015, and consisting of 19 (54%) males and 16 (46%) females, were included into
the study. The same medical treatment protocol was applied to all patients.
Patients who failed to show any improvement by the end of the fifth day of
treatment were subjected to hyperbaric oxygen treatment. Patients were
classified according to the level of hearing loss recovery they exhibited.

Results: The age of the
patients ranged between 25 and 54, while the median age was 35.828. An
Audiometric evaluation taken on the first day of treatment showed a significant
improvement in the hearing threshold of 7 (20%) of the patients. Of the 11
patients who received hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBO2), 10 (91%)
exhibited moderate recovery. On the other hand, among the total of 35 patients
included into the study, 17 (49%) showed full recovery, 6 (17%) showed
significant recovery, and 10 (28%) showed moderate recovery. One (2%) of the
patients did not exhibit any recovery.

Conclusion: It was observed that
nearly all of the patients benefited from the administered treatment protocol.
In addition, considering its benefits on patient prognosis, we also recommend
the use of steroid in addition HBO2 treatment, regardless of whether it is
applied at an early or late stage of the treatment.
