Septik emboliler ve akut koroner sendromla seyreden Abiotrophia defectiva’ya bağlı bir enfektif endokardit olgusu

Abstract

Abiotrophia defectiva (A.defectiva), eskiden nutrisyonel varyant
streptokoklar olarak isimlendirilen, günümüzde Abiotrophia cinsi içinde
sınıflandırılan, katalaz negatif, Gram pozitif koklardır. A.defectiva’nın
üremesi için besiyerinde pridoksin ve L-sistein gibi bazı nutrisyonel maddelere
gereksinim vardır, bu nedenle rutin besiyerlerinde üretilemez. A. defectiva’ya
bağlı olarak enfektif endokardit gelişimi oldukça nadirdir. Bu yazıda, septik
emboli ve akut koroner sendrom ile birlikte A. defectiva’ya bağlı olarak enfektif endokardit gelişen, mitral kapak
replasmanı ve antibiyotik tedavisi sonrası düzelen 38 yaşında bir erkek hasta
sunulmuştur.

Infective endocarditis case due to Abiotrophia defectiva concurrent with septic embolism and acute coronary syndrome

Abstract

Abiotrophia defectiva (A. defectiva) , formely named as nutritionally variant
streptoccocci, nowadays it was classified 
in Abiotrophia genus. A.defectiva
is catalase negative, Gram positive coccus. These bacteria need some essential
nutrients such as pyridoxine and L-cysteine etc. for growth, for his reason do
not grow in routine cultures. Endocarditis due to A.defectiva is rarely seen.

In this manuscript, we report 38 years old male who has infective
endocarditis due to A. defectiva

concurrent
with septic embolism and acute coronary syndrome; he was recovered with mitral valve replacement
and antibiotic treatment
