REHABİLİTASYON PSİKOLOJİK DANIŞMANLIĞI: TÜRKİYE UYGULAMALARININ TEMELLERİ II

Abstract

Rehabilitasyon psikolojik danışmanlığı Türkiye’de yeni bir alan olduğu için, bu alanda
yayınlanmış az sayıda çalışma vardır. Bu makalenin amacı rehabilitasyon psikolojik danışmanlığının
çalışma alanı olan engellilere sunulan psikolojik hizmetler kapsamında engellilere yönelik
toplumsal modeller, engele adaptasyon süreci ve başa çıkma mekanizmaları konusunda literatür
taraması yapıp sonuçlarını paylaşmaktır. Bu çalışmada doküman analizi kullanılmıştır. Literatür
taramasının sonuçları engellilerle ilgili olarak üç tane modelden bahsedildiğini göstermiştir: Medikal,
sosyal ve biyopsikososyal model. Günümüzde geçerli olan biyopsikososyal model Dünya
Sağlık Örgütü’nün geliştirdiği İşlevsellik Yetiyitimi ve Sağlığın Uluslararası Sınıflandırması modeliyle
uyumludur. Bu model engelin vücut yapısı, fonksiyonları, aktivitesi ile toplumsal katılım ve
bireysel-çevresel faktörlerin etkileşimi sonucu anlaşılabileceğini savunmaktadır. Engele adaptasyon
süreci ile ilgili olarak, rehabilitasyon psikolojik danışmanlığının kurucularından olan Beatrice
Wright`ın geliştirdiği baş etmeye karşın-yenik düşme konsepti bu alanda kabul görmüştür. Wright
engele uyum sürecini dört basamakta açıklamıştır: a) Değer Alanlarının Genişletilmesi, b) Fiziksel
Yeterliliklerin İkinci Derece Önem Arz Etmesi, c) Engelin Etkilerinin Kısıtlanması ve d) Karşılaştırmalı
Değer Verme Durumundan Kişinin Kendine Ait Yeterliliklerine Değer Vermesine Geçilmesi.
Bunun yanında kişinin kullandığı başa çıkma mekanizmaları da kişinin adaptasyon sürecinde
etkilidir. Bunlar makro analitik başa çıkma mekanizmaları ya da mikro analitik başa çıkma mekanizmaları
olarak ikiye ayrılmaktadır. Bu makale bu alanda yazılan çok az sayıda makalelerden biridir.
Bu itibarla bu makalenin Türk psikolojik danışma literatürüne katkı sağlayacağı umulmaktadır.
