TÜRKİYE’DE DOĞRUDAN YABANCI YATIRIMLAR VE EKONOMİK BÜYÜME ARASI İLİŞKİLER: SİMETRİK VE ASİMETRİK NEDENSELLİK ANALİZLERİ (2005-2020)

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye ekonomisinde Doğrudan Yabancı Yatırım (DYY) ile ekonomik büyüme arası ilişkileri incelmektir. Çalışmada değikenler arası nedensel ilişkilerin tespitinde 2005-2020 dönemine ait üçer aylık veriler kullanılmıştır. Simetrik Toda-Yamamoto nedensellik analizi sonuçlarına göre Türkiye’de DYY’dan ekonomik büyümeye doğru tek yönlü bir nedensel bir ilişki vardır. Bu sonuç, DYY’ın Türkiye ekonomisinin büyümesini etkileyen bir faktör olduğunu göstermektedir. Diğer taraftan asimetrik nedensellik analizi sonuçlarına göre DYY’daki negatif şoklarla Türkiye ekonomisinin büyümesindeki negatif şoklar arasında iki yönlü bir nedensel ilişki söz konusudur. Elde edilen bu bulgu, DYY’lardaki negatif bir şokun Türkiye’nin ekonomik büyümesinde negatif bir şoka yola açtığını gösterirken, aynı şekilde Türkiye ekonomisinde yaşanacak negatif bir büyüme şoku, Türkiye’ye yönelen DYY’larda da negatif bir şoka yol açacaktır. Dolayısıyla Türkiye ekonomisinin büyümesinde önemli bir unsur olan DYY’ın çekilebilmesi için Türkiye’de ekonomik istikrarın sağlanmış olması gerekmektedir.
