ISASTECH 2025: Overview, Outcomes and Reflections

Abstract

ISASTECH 2025, the 4th International Symposium on Automotive Science and Technology, was held in Kocaeli, Türkiye, on September 18–20, 2025, as a multidisciplinary scientific platform bringing together academia, industry, public institutions, and professional organizations. Organized under the leadership of the Automotive Engineers Association (OMD) and hosted by the Department of Automotive Engineering at Kocaeli University, the symposium aimed to promote scientific knowledge, sectoral collaboration, and technological exchange in the rapidly transforming automotive field. The event addressed major themes shaping the future of mobility, including electrification, digitalization, artificial intelligence, sustainable production, alternative fuels, vehicle systems, battery technologies, manufacturing processes, and green transformation. A total of 109 scientific papers were submitted, 102 of which were presented during the symposium, with 578 participants attending the event. These figures demonstrate the strong academic and sectoral interest in ISASTECH 2025. In addition to oral presentations, the symposium featured invited talks and four panel sessions focusing on electric vehicles and battery technologies, sustainable automotive R&D and innovation, digital transformation, and green transformation in the automotive industry. Overall, ISASTECH 2025 provided a productive environment for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and discussion of future challenges in automotive science and technology. The outcomes of the symposium are expected to contribute to the advancement of research, innovation, and stakeholder cooperation in the automotive ecosystem.
