Ischemic stroke and an unexpected reason: fragile biatrial myxoma.

Abstract

Myxoma is the most common heart tumor that occurs sporadically (95%) or familial and syndromic (5%). Multilobular myxoma accounts for less than 1% to 2% of all myxoma cases. They can cause cerebral and pulmonary embolism according to their localization. There are cases of biatrial myxoma with different clinical and anatomical features in the literature. A big fragile biatrial myxoma (25x34 mm in the left atrium and 16x28 mm in the right atrium) which originating from the same stem, prolapsing into the left ventricle and causing ischemic stroke is prescribed in this case.

İskemik stroke ve beklenmeyen sebebi: frajil biatriyal miksoma.

Abstract

Miksoma, sporadik (%95) veya ailesel ve sendromik (%5) şekilde olarak ortaya çıkan en yaygın kalp tümörüdür. Multilobüler miksoma tüm miksoma vakalarının %1 ila %2'sinden daha azıdır. Lokalizasyonlarına göre serebral ve pulmoner emboli nedeni olabilirler. Literatürde farklı klinik ve anatomik özelliklerde biatriyal miksoma vakaları mevcuttur. Bu vakada aynı saptan kaynaklanan sol atriyumda 25x34 mm, sağ atriyum içerisinde 16x28 mm boyutlarında sol ventrikül içine prolabe olan frajil özellikte biatriyal miksoma ve klinik prezentasyonu anlatılmaktadır.
