Abstract

AMAÇ: Bu çalışmada polikliniğimize başvuran çocuk ve ergenlerden Tik bozukluğu (TB) olanların sosyodemografik özelliklerini belirlemek ve DSM-IV’e göre TB’ndaki eşhastanalım sıklığını belirlemek amaçlanmıştır.YÖNTEMLER: : Araştırmanın örneklemi çocuk -ergen ruh sağlığı ve hastalıkları polikliniğine başvuran, DSM-IV'e göre Tik Bozukluğu tanısı konmuş ve zeka düzeyi normal saptanan, 7-16 yaş arası 48 çocuk – ergendendi. Kontrol grubu, tanı grubu ile cinsiyet ve yaş özellikleri birebir eşleşen aynı polikliniğine başvuran yaşları 7-16 yaş arasında bulunan Çocuk ve Ergenlere DSM-IV tanı ölçütlerine göre tik bozukluğu tanısı konmamış ve zeka düzeyi normal saptanan 48 çocuk-ergendendi. Çalışmadan dışlanma ölçütleri; eşlik eden ağır nörolojik bir hastalığının bulunması, klinik ve psikometrik olarak zeka geriliğinin saptanması ve başka ağır organik bozukluğun bulunması olarak belirlenmiştir.Araştırmada çocuk ve ergenlerin depresyon belirtileri Çocuklar İçin Depresyon Envanteri (CDI) ile; anksiyete belirtileri Çocuklarda Anksiyete Bozukluklarını Tarama Ölçeği, obsesif-kompulsif belirtileri Maudsley Obsesif Kompulsif Bozukluk Ölçeği ile belirlenmiş, sosyodemografik özellikler “Yarı Yapılandırılmış Görüşme Formu” ile saptanmış, komorbid bozukluklar DSM-TV tanı ölçütlerine göre değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca her olguya EEG ve zeka testi yaptırılmıştır. İstatistiksel analizde; gruplar arasında değişkenlerin karşılaştırılmasında Student t testi, Mann Whitney-U testi ve Chi-Square testi kullanılmıştır. p

Sociodemographic properties and accompanying disorders of children and adolescents with tic disorder

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to determine the sociodemographic features of children and adolescents with tic disorders diagnosed by using DSM-IV criteria and theirs presence of comorbid any psychiatric disorders. METHODS: Total 48 of children and adolescents aged 7-16 years who, admitted to the Child and Adolescent psychiatry outpatient clinic, have diagnosed with tic disorders according to the DSM-IV criteria and had normal intelligent quotient (IQ) consisted of the patient group. The control group was constituted by 48 of children and adolescents, admitted to the same abovementioned clinic, have had no tic disorders and had normal IQ, who age- and sex-matched with the patients. Exclusion criteria of the study was the following: the presence of severe any neurological disorder, mental retardation detected with parametrical measures and/or clinical evaluation and the presence of another disorders which had organic etiology. Children depression invantory (CDI), Screen for Child Anxiety and Related Disorders (SCARD) and The Maudsley Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory were used for evaluating of depression, anxiety and obsessions respectively. Sociodemographic features of the sampling were evaluated by using “Semi-structured interview form, created by authors of this study” and comorbid psychiatric disorders were determined according to the DSM-IV criteria. Eectroencephalography (EEG) and Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-revised (WISC-R) or Stanford Binet Intelligence tests were carried out for all subjects. For statistical analysis, Student’s t test, Mann Whitney-U test and Chi-square were used where is appropriate. p
