Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Tıpta İnsan Bilimleri Programının Dönem 1 ve Dönem 2 Öğrencileri Tarafından Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Tıpta İnsan Bilimleri, Tıp ve sağlık özelinde insan deneyimlerini kaydeden ve yorumlayan tarih, edebiyat, sanat, felsefe, etik, hukuk, sosyoloji, arkeoloji, antropoloji ve psikoloji gibi alanlardaki sistematik çalışmaların tümüne verilen isimdir. Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde 2010-2011 Eğitim-öğretim yılından itibaren “Tıpta İnsan Bilimleri Eğitim Programı” uygulanmaya başlanmıştır. Bu programın amacı, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi öğrencilerinin gelecekteki meslek yaşantısında etik ve estetik değerleri yüksek iyi hekimler olabilmesi için hastasının sadece biyolojik sorunlarını çözen değil aynı zamanda hastasını her yönüyle iyi tanıyabilen, empati yapabilen, hekimlik sanatının insani boyutunu anlayabilen ve böylece hastalarını biyopsikososyal bir bütün olarak görebilmelerini sağlamaktır. Program konferans, seminer, film izleme ve yorumlama saatleri, interaktif toplantılar şeklinde yapılandırılmıştır. Tıpta İnsan Bilimleri Programının 4. Yılında programın değerlendirmesini yapmak, iyi işleyen faktörleri belirlemek, eksik yönleri görmek ve öğrencilerin önerilerini almak amacı ile bir anket planlanmıştır.YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Anket programın uygulandığı 2013-2014 eğitim-öğretim yılında Dönem 1 ve programı bir önceki yıl almış olan Dönem 2 öğrencilerine uygulanmıştır. Dönem 1 öğrencilerinden 86 öğrenci, Dönem 2 öğrencilerinden 84 olmak üzere toplam 170 öğrenci ankete katılmıştır. Ankette Tıpta İnsan Bilimleri programının amacı ile ilgili sorular sorulmuş ve programla ilgili öneriler istenmiştir.BULGULAR: Bulgular değerlendirildiğinde iki sınıf arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunamamıştır (p>0,05). Sonuçta, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Tıpta İnsan Bilimleri programı hedefleri arasında olan “entelektüel bakış açısını genişletme” ve “kişisel gelişime katkı” cevabı en yüksek ortalamaları almıştır.TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Tüm öğrenciler değerlendirildiğinde % 92.4’lük bir oran ile programın devam etmesi istenmiştir. Programın bu sonuçlarla daha iyi bir düzeye getirilebileceği ve değişik konu başlıkları ile çeşitlendirilebileceği düşünülmektedir.

Evaluation of humanities in medicine program by grade 1 and grade 2 students of Pamukkale University Medical School

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Humanities in Medicine is defined as the whole of history, literature, arts, philosophy, ethics, jurisprudence, sociology, archeology, anthropology and psychology which record and interprete human experiences in health. “Humanities in Medicine Education Program” commenced to be applied at Pamukkale University Medical School beginning from 2010-2011 education year. This program targets to educate physicians who not only solve the biological problems of the patients but also know the patients with every aspect, make empathy, can judge the character and thereby view the patients as a whole. The program was structured as seminaries, conferences, hours for watching and interpreting films, interactive meetings. A questionnaire was designed in 2013-2014 education year in order to evaluate the program at its fourth year, determine the well working factors, deficits and get the recommendations of the students and the questionnaire was applied to grade 1 students to whom the program was applied and grade 2 students who had received the program in the previous year.METHODS: A total of 170 students (86 grade 1 students and 84 grade 2 students) were included in the study. The questionnaire included the questions about the goals of the program and recommendations were asked. RESULTS: A significant difference was not found between two grades (p>0.05). The highest averages were obtained from “enhancing intellectual perspective” and “contribution to personal development” which are among the goals of Pamukkale University Medical School Humanities in Medicine Program. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: When all students were evaluated, the program was wanted to continue with the ratio of 92.4%. We consider that the program could be improved and different headings may be added.
