Brankiyal kist zemininde gelişen skuamöz hücreli karsinom (Primer Brankiyojenik Karsinom)

Year 2014, Issue: 3, 240 - 244, 01.10.2014

Abstract

Squamous cell carcinoma developed on the basis of branchial cyst (Primary Branchiogenic Carcinoma): A case report

Year 2014, Issue: 3, 240 - 244, 01.10.2014

Abstract

Branchial anomalies are the most common congenital neck pathologies in the lateral part of the neck. Branchial anomalies frequently arises in the cyst form. The most common type (95%) is the second branchial cleft cysts. Second branchial cleft cysts are localized along deep to the anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle in the lateral part of the neck. Branchial cleft cysts becomes apparent as painless, fluctuant neck mass usually showing growth after an upper respiratory tract infection attack. They are usually benign lesions. As infections may develop, publications are also found in the literature that carcinomas developed on branchial cysts. We have discussed a squamous cell carcinoma case developed on the basis of branchial cyst in this article. It was showed requirements to investigate on the basis of new cases for the definitive diagnosis by pathologists concerning where this carcinoma derived from.
