This study aimed to investigate the effects of sportive recreational activities applied to the educable mentally retarded individuals on their psychological adaptation and anger levels. Psychological Adaptation level mean scores were found to be 22,48±4,322 in pre-test and 19,16±3,158 in post-test. As for the average scores of Neurotic Behaviours and Behavioural Problems which were the sub-components of Psychological Adaptation, while Neurotic Behaviours mean scores were found to be 11,08±2,499 in pre-test and 9,00±1,803 in post-test, Behavioural Problems mean scores were found to be 11,40±3,069 in pre-test and 10,16±2,625 in post-test. The findings indicated that the activities implemented led a decrease in individuals’ Neurotic Behaviours and Behavioural Problems scores. Mean scores on Trait Anger Scale were found to be 23,56±4,691 in pre-test and 21,16±4,007 in post-test. As a consequence of these activities, there occurred a decrease in mean scores and it was revealed that there was a significant difference in terms of Trait Anger level (Z=-4,276, P<0,05).
