Applicability and Future of the Endless Runway Project
Abstract
With the widespread use of airplanes, the capacity of the airports is insufficient and the runways where the planes land and take off from time to time cause blockages. Dutch engineer H. Hesselink argues that with the endless (round) runway design, it will be possible to land and take off 3-4 planes at the same time. The endless runway aims to save fuel and land on the runway quickly without waiting for the planes. In this study, the endless runway project was examined in all its dimensions and its applicability was discussed.
