Past, Present and Future of Air Taxi Transportation: A Temporal Comparison Analysis

Abstract

This study deals with the position of air taxi transportation in the past, the point it has come from from the past to the present and the conditions that are foreseen to be in the future. Air taxi transportation, which was seen as a luxury in the past, has become more of a necessity with the corona virus, which has recently emerged as a force majeure. Because in this process, although many sectors were negatively affected, one of the sectors that felt this negative effect the most was the aviation sector. With the pandemic, the demand for airlines has decreased. Especially in the early days when the pandemic has come to the fore and vaccination has not yet started, there have been dilutions and bans in international flights and reductions in domestic flights in the same way. Air taxi services, on the other hand, did not lose their importance in this period, and continued to be demanded by many masses. With the effect of technology, people's wishes and demands have changed and developed and become suitable for living standards. Therefore, air taxi service is of great importance for the future. The main purpose of this study; To ensure the comparison of air taxi transportation with other countries in the world, especially in Turkey, and to provide solution suggestions together with the determination of the existing problems in the sector as a result of the comparison. Achieving results in terms of the development of the sector is also among the aims of the study. As a method, comparative analysis techniques were used. By examining the air taxi markets of the countries and regions, a conclusion is reached by making the status, development and future predictions of the air taxi with the obtained data. References and predictions are made about the past and present situation of the air taxi markets, the point they have reached now and the possible future situation. As a result; By making comparative analyzes of the past, present and future of air taxi transportation in Turkey, America and the world, possible predictions and some conclusions are reached.
