Çözüm Odaklı Psikoterapilerde Eklektik Yaklaşım: Çözüm Odaklı Terapilere Problem Odaklı Terapilerden Tekniklerin Entegrasyonu Mümkün Müdür?

Year 2017, Volume: 5 Issue: 2, 362 - 367, 01.01.2017

Abstract

An Eclectic Approach In Solution Focused Psychotherapies: Is it Possible to Integrate Techniques of Problem Focused Therapies to Solution Focused Therapies?

Year 2017, Volume: 5 Issue: 2, 362 - 367, 01.01.2017

Abstract

The risk of being applied rigidly is valid for all psychotherapeutic approaches. It is clear that a model that is not flexible enough couldn’t be able to respond properly to diverse needs of clients. On the other hand the basic philosophy of solution focused psychotherapies is quite different from other traditional approaches. Solution focused therapy is an approach that was pragmatically developed and is not theory based. It is a disciplined approach which was psychotherapeutic processes for hundreds of hours. Solution focused therapist focuses on the solutions instead of the problems which bring the client to the therapy. It is a brief, future directed, goal oriented treatment approach. “Exceptions”, “miracle question” techniques and future oriented questions are used while predicting client’s therapy goals. Some of the basic tenets can be described as “If it is not broken do not fix it”, “If it works do it more” and so on. On the other hand traditional therapies are focusing on the problem which brings the patient to the therapy. Is it possible to use techniques of other therapy models which are not solution focused in a therapy system which is not focusing on problem as a basic tenet? The aim of this article is seeking answer for this question. Therefore the aim of this article is discussing posibility of this integration, hence possibility of an eclectic approach while using solution focused approach through using literature
