Abstract
The constitution of necessary conditions for conservation of objects without physical intervention that could
be called preventive conservation gains more importance nowadays. In this work, the conservation problems
with details in seven museums chosen to present the museums in Central Anatolia are mentioned. The
conditions of existing museums in terms of museum buildings, exhibition, storage, destruction, personnel
management were analyzed in details. The conversation conditions in these museums were examined in
comparison between themselves then necessary next steps were determinated.
As a result of this work, museums are not yet in enough level in the preventive conservation. It was seen
that museum buildings are not suitable for conservation, the showcases for exhibitions are not suitable for
safety of the objects, the proper physical conditions for conservation of objects in storages are not sufficient
except some storage of Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. In this respect, the necessity of urgently making
museum buildings showcases and storages suitable to conservation of objects was appeared.
