Abstract

This paper presents the information and data gained as a result of observations and meetings during the

technical visit to Azerbaijan between the dates of 10 and 16 September 2017, as one of the annual activities

of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Department of Cultural Assets, Directorate for the Inspection of

Conservation Implementations, Stonemasonry Training Workshop. A small Azerbaijani - Turkish dictionary

that includes some words from conservation terminology has been added at the end.

Baku, Sheki and Ganja cities have been visited according to the route and a meeting with Azərbərpa

Scientific Research and Projects Institute committee, another meeting with Ganja City Culture and Tourism

Administration committee took place in Baku and Ganja cities consecutively. Both institutions are within the

body of Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Besides the meetings, cultural properties and sites, especially UNESCO World Heritage Sites or sites from

the Tentative List and museums in the cities mentioned above have been visited.
