In this study, the experimental works conducted for the purpose of the production of repair mortars designed by using traditional materials in the restoration of Anemas Dungeons located in Haliç-Ayvansaray region of the land walls of Istanbul are presented. First of all, the characterization works on the original mortar and plaster samples were conducted, then, according to test results considering the material type and ratio of binder and aggregate , the repair mortar samples were prepared in the laboratory. By this purpose, firstly, the experimental works were conducted on the puzzolan material which was used in the production of repair mortars, after that, by using this puzzolan material, the repair mortars which have similar properties with original khorasan mortars were prepared in the lab. The physical, mechanical and micro structure properties of the repair mortars produced in the lab were determined. And then, these mortars were applied on the specific wall of the Anemas Dungeons. After 1 year, the samples were taken from this wall and the physical and micro structure property tests were conducted. The test results of the repair mortars prepared in the lab and the site were compared. The durability performances of repair mortars were evaluated. In the end of the evaluation, it was determined that the repair mortars performed similar properties like color, structure and durability with the original mortars.
