The restoration project of Murat Hüdavendigar Mosque Cuma Mosque commenced in 2006. The project was financed by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and undertaken by Taşyapı as the contractor. The preservation of 18th and 19th century mural paintings to date in their original form is the highlight feature of this building. The restoration of mural paintings was completed in 2008. Our paper will provide information on the methods and materials employed during the restoration and conservation of mural paintings which took about 20 months-work.
