In this paper, the physical, chemical and the physico-mechanical specifications of Mardin micritic limestones are examined and the suitability for architectural usage is studied. Physical and physico-mechanical tests establish pressure strength, porosity and water absorption; specification and EDX analysis determine the mineralogical ingredient of the stone. The acquired results show that this type of stone is feasible to be used as a construction material for places which have the same climatic conditions as Mardin.
