Due to its easy assurance and workability, as well as its warm, rich and beautiful look, wood has been used almost in every field of human life for centuries. It has a very wide area of usage, which ranges from structural elements such as beams and columns to fine structures such as windows and doors, from furnitures such as tables and chairs to bookshelves . It is necessary to give best attention to the use and the selection of wooden library furnitures. The wooden library furnitures in use, made from either natural or composite, have to be painted with waterbased polyurethane paints for protecting them. The painted furnitures have to be dried out for 3 or 4 weeks before their use in the library. If the material of the library furnitures were selected from natural or composite woods, then it should be choosen from the ones which are less noxious, such as poplar, lime tree, walnut and spruce. Besides, emerging researches and determinations about both natural and composite woods have to be examined in detail and safe use of the materials should be considered. On the other hand, the insect damages on both wooden furnitures and documents such as books and magazines should be consistently kept under control
