THE STONE CONSERVATION AND A RESEARCH ON THE EFFICACY OF THE WATER REPELLENTS FOR THE CONSERVATION

Abstract

Turkey is a rich country with having a variety of cultures. These cultures can be seen by the help of historical structures coming up to now. It our our responsibility to save these structures for the next generations by considering the principles. The stone conservation science and the applications have not a long history in our Turkey. The stone conservation technologies have been still developed in all over the world. Because, the successful treatment applications depend on the various factors. These works need for multidisiplinear professions. And more over, to get succesful results, it is required to share the documentation of the pre works and experiments. In this article, the resarches which are conducted for determining the efficacy of the protective chemicals used for the volcanic tuffs in laboratory conditions are presented
