This study seeks to follow the historical path and the complex causes of one of the most prominent and longest conflicts in the Caucasus region, NagornoKarabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Currently the conflict has taken a regional dimension and became one of a regional bargaining agenda. The study provides an overview of the dispute territory, and focuses in its causes in order to clarify the complexity of this conflict. At the end the study provides a brief reading of the regional dimensions of this conflict, especially those related to the Turkish-Iranian rivalry in the region, calculations and interests of each side in the management of this conflict, and its impact on the conflict process and its future
