This paper examines the reactions that united States could take following the start of delivering the Russian S-400 air defense system to Turkey. It addresses America's approach to exclude Turkey out of the F-35 program as well as the sanctions it imposes under the CAATSA. The article first brings to light Turkey's contributions to the F-35 warplane project. It then defines a rational study on the threat of excluding Turkey out of the project in response to its purchase of S-400. and addresses the criteria necessity. integration. potential. usability. reliability which determines Turkey’s options when it has to choose one of the two alternatives.
