The Imagined State: PKK and YPG Organizational Efforts to Establish a State in Syria

Abstract

The current study deals with the efforts of the two organizations, PKK and YPG, to establish a state in northern Syria, taking advantage of the vacuum that occurred in the region after 2011, and the support that the two organizations received from the United States after ISIS took control of parts of the region. The study believes that Turkey needs to continue military operations comprehensively in order to strip the terrorist organization of the lands it controls in Syria.

الدولة المتخيَّلة جهود تنظيمي بي كي كي وواي بي جي لإقامة دولة في سوريا

Abstract

تتناول هذه الدراسة مساعي تنظيمَي حزب العمال الكردستاني (بي كي كي PKK) ووحدات حماية الشعب (واي بي جي YPG) لإقامة دولة شمال سوريا من خلال الاستفادة من الفراغ الذي حصل في المنطقة بعد 2011م، والدعم الذي حصل عليه التنظيمان من الولايات المتحدة بعد سيطرة تنظيم داعش على أجزاء من المنطقة. ترى الدراسة أن تركيا تحتاج إلى مواصلة العمليات العسكرية بشكل شامل من أجل تجريد التنظيمين الإرهابيين من الأراضي التي يسيطران عليها في سوريا. لذا لا بد من تحرير شمال طريق M4 حيث تركز المنظّمتان قوتهما، خصوصًا في مناطق مثل مدينتَي عين العرب والقامشلي.
