Bir Mekân Olarak Kent Meydanı ve Mekân Dizimi ile Değerlendirilmesi: Rize Kent Meydanı Örneği

Abstract

Kent meydanları, kentlerin sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik yapısını yansıtan ve şekillendiren kentsel yaşamın önemli bir parçasıdır. Sosyal ve kültürel dokuyu yansıtan, kentin ihtiyaçlarına bağlı olarak gelişen kent meydanı, bir mekân olarak, somutlaşmış deneyime dayalı bir insan- mekân iletişimi kurar.
Birey ve çevresi arasındaki ilişkiyi bir kent meydanı ve kullanıcısı özelinde incelemeyi araştıran bu çalışma meydanların kent simgesi olarak önemini anlatırken, kentteki rolünü de ortaya çıkarmaya çalışmıştır. Kullanıcının taleplerine göre değişim gösterebilecek olan meydanların çalışma özelinde incelenen bir örneğe göre analiz edilmesi için mekânsal analiz yöntemi olan mekân dizimi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Kanıt tabanlı ve yönlendirici etkiye sahip olan mekân dizimi yöntemi veri elde etme aracı olarak tercih edilmiştir. Bu çalışma mekânsal boyutlar arasındaki ilişkileri inceleyip, kullanıcı faaliyetleri ve fiziksel özellikler üzerine çıkarımlar yapmakla motive edilmiştir. Sınırlı bir kapsama sahip olmasına rağmen karşılaştırmalı nicel değerlendirmeler ile örnek teşkil edebilecek açıklamalar yapmayı hedeflemiştir. Ayrıca bu çalışma; meydan tasarımlarının şehir hayatına uyum sağlamak için yıllar içinde nasıl değiştiğine ve kentsel tasarımlara odaklanan araştırmalar için geliştirilebilir.
