The Journal of Defence and Security Research is a refereed journal that has been prepared and published by Alparslan Defence Sciences and National Security Institute. The Journal is published semiannually in March and September. The purpose of the Journal is to contribute to the literature by following scientific developments in defence and security sciences and creating a communication environment for scientific research and applications. It also facilitates interaction between researchers and practitioners in order to achieve progress in the field. The journal publishes refereed articles in both Turkish and English languages in the fields of defence management, international security and terorrism, maritime law and security, intelligence studies, military history, military education management. They could be a research report, a systematic literature review or an original opinion article discussing a new idea or model. The languages of the Journal are Turkish and English. All manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the specifications of the APA 6 publication manual. Manuscripts submitted to the Journal are reviewed by two anonymous reviewers as well as the editor.

The Journal of Defence and Security Research is committed to maintain the highest academic and ethical standards in line with the principles of the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE).
The Journal ensures an unbiased consideration for each work submitted.
The Editorial Board and the editors of the Journal are obliged to ensure the confidentiality of the submitted works until they are published, except in the case of suspicion of double submission or plagiarism.
The Journal adheres to double blind review process. In cases where the referee evaluations are contradictory or inadequate, the editors and/or the Editorial Board may ask for additional review(s).
The authors should ensure that they have submitted entirely original works to the Journal. The authors should appropriately cite all the materials used in the work. All attempts of plagiarism are resulted in rejection of the submitted manuscript. Authors should not submit the same work or essentially the same research in more than one journal at the same time. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and would result immediate rejection.
The Journal of Defence and Security Research is an open access journal, which means it is free to access all manuscripts online as soon as they are published. There are no article publishing charges for the submitted works.
The journal has an open access policy and there are no submission fees, publication fees, or page charges for the journal.
