Year 2020, Volume: 3 Issue: 2, 98 - 111, 01.06.2021

Abstract

Bulgular: Öğrencilerin yaş ortalamaları 22,71±2,68 olup, %64,6’i kız öğrencidir.

Year 2020, Volume: 3 Issue: 2, 98 - 111, 01.06.2021

Abstract

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between sociodemographic characteristics and spirituality in a group of university students.
Methods: The research is descriptive, and it was carried out with 721 students studying at different faculties of a university and studying in their last year, the "Spirituality" sub-dimension of Pender's healthy lifestyle behaviors scale and a questionnaire form developed by the researchers.
Results: The mean age of the students participating in the study was 22.71±2.68, and 64.6% were female students. The mean “Spirituality” score of the participants was 27.27±4.74. Before the study, there was a significant correlation between the state of taking any health-related lecture or seminar, the history of substance addiction, and the employment status of the family members and spirituality (p<0.05).
Conclusion: It was found that the spirituality scores of the students who participated in the study were high. When the spirituality scores according to gender were examined, it was determined that the spirituality scores of the female students, those who took health-related courses and those who did not have substance addiction were higher.
