SOCIAL DEMONSTRATIONS OF GLOBALIZATION

Abstract

The term globalization emerges as a turning point in the historical process of humanity. Because globalization is a phenomenon directed at humans and human labor. Globalization, which touches upon almost all aspects of human life such as religion, thought, culture, technology, art, language and philosophy of life, shapes humanity with its impact and contribution. In this direction, there are those who oppose it as well as those who embrace it. The basic data in the reactions is the evolution of traditional understanding and the transformation and shaping of social values known as conservatism. Access to information has become very easy in the world that has become a village as a result of globalization. This rapid access resulted in the interaction of people in line with their knowledge of different cultures. The strong culture has taken on a dominant character over other societies. In this direction, globalization, which has become a direction for the social life of people, has guided the masses that have local values. Although this has caused some concerns, it has occurred as an irresistible force. The fact that this powerful globalization comes from the West, which is considered to be a center, constitutes the basic reason for the reactions that it is a phenomenon adorned with Western values. In this form, globalization has shaped a social transformation in line with Western values. Here, the reactionary attitudes towards globalization have not yielded results and have led to its further adoption, especially among the generations that are children of the information and communication age. Globalization, which has more than one manifestation, has gained even more effective prevalence by influencing and directing societies, especially in line with technological developments such as the internet and computers. Many social values and phenomena such as religion, language and culture today have been shaped in line with the globalization process. In line with this transformation, local cultures did not disappear but took on a new form.
