Abstract

This study focuses on Saint Thecla as a healer and worker of miracles. The author of these reports, which occurred during the mid 5th century, is not certain. However it is attributed to Basil of Seleucia by some theologians. These miracles underline the role of Saint Thecla among the people, her religious power, as well as how she healed sick ones. The miracles shed light on the power of her healing and effectiveness on the people. In the second part of the work the complete text of the Miracle of the boy from Olba, who had an eye problem and come to Thecla’s sanctuary for healing, will be presented in Turkish

Şifaverici Azize Thecla: Mucizeleri ve Olbalı Çocuk

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Azize Thecla’nın şifa verici yönü ve mucizeleri üzerinde durulmuştur. MS 5. yüzyıl ortalarında gerçekleştirildiği anlaşılan bu mucizelerin yazarı kesin belli değildir. Bazı teologlar bunların Seleucialı Basileus tarafından yazıldığını düşünmektedir.Mucizelerde Azize Thecla’nın halk arasındaki rolü, dinsel gücü ve hastalara nasıl şifa olduğu anlatılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada mucizeler kısaca anlatıldıktan sonra, Thecla’nın bir Azize olarak şifa verme gücü ve insanlar üzerindeki etkilerine değinilmektedir. Çalışmanın ikinci kısmında ise göz sorunu nedeniyle, kutsal alana gelip tekrar sağlığına kavuşan Olbalı bir çocuğun mucizesi ilk defa Türkçe tam metin olarak sunulmaktadır.
