TRENDS IN GRADUATE THESES ON ENTREPRENEURSHİP EDUCATION IN TURKEY (2016-2025): A DOCUMENT ANALYSIS STUDY

Öz

The transformations brought about by industrial revolutions have also influenced perspectives on entrepreneurship. Today, entrepreneurship is no longer regarded solely as a component of economic growth; rather, it is considered one of the key competencies emphasizing innovative thinking and problem-solving. In this context, identifying the trends in graduate theses conducted in the field of entrepreneurship education in Türkiye is important for understanding the current state of the field and determining priorities for future research. The aim of this study is to examine graduate theses on entrepreneurship education completed in Türkiye between 2016 and 2025 and to identify the general research trends in this field. The study was conducted using the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods. A total of 37 graduate theses on entrepreneurship education obtained from the Council of Higher Education National Thesis Center database were analyzed. The theses were classified according to publication year, institute, thesis type, department, keywords, research design, and sample group. The findings indicate that most of the theses were conducted at the master’s level. The majority of the studies were carried out within Institutes of Social Sciences and Educational Sciences. Among the departments, Business Administration and Mathematics and Science Education were the most prominent fields. The most frequently used keywords in the theses were entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education. In addition, qualitative research methods were the most preferred research approach, while middle school students constituted the most common sample group. The findings are expected to provide guidance for future research in the field of entrepreneurship education.
