EXAMINATION OF THE CHILD EDUCATION ADEQUACY LEVELS OF SYRIAN REFUGEE MOTHERS LIVING IN TURKEY

Öz

The environment of the child and the family factor play an important role in the development of a child. The mother has an important place in the development of the child. The ability to properly carry out and organize responsibilities in relation to motherhood is defined as parental competence. The parent's responsibilities to care and upbringing the child depend on their capacity, beliefs, judgments and culture she has. In this study, it is aimed to examine the child education adequacy levels of Syrian mothers living in Turkey, whose children are between the ages of 5-12, in terms of different variables. The study's universe was created by Syrian mothers living in Mardin province, while 130 mothers selected by selective sampling from turkish literate mothers who were willing to participate in the study constitute the sample of the research.   The data of the study was collected through "General Information Form" and "Child Education Proficiency Scale (CEPS)". The data obtained from the study were evaluated with SPSS 24.0 package program and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey HSD test were used for data analysis. The results of the study revealed that mothers' educational competence did not differ according to the age of the mothers and the people with whom the child was staying. According to the maternal education status variable, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the child's development sub-dimension score averages and the child's development sub-dimension score averages according to the child's recognition and child orientation sub-dimension score averages (p<0.05).

TÜRKİYE ‘DE YAŞAYAN GÖÇMEN SURİYELİ ANNELERİN ÇOCUK EĞİTİMİ YETERLİLİĞİ DÜZEYLERİNİN FARKLI DEĞİŞKENLER AÇISINDAN İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Bir çocuğun gelişiminde çocuğun bulunduğu çevre ve aile faktörü önemli bir yere sahiptir. Çocuğun gelişiminde anne önemli yere sahiptir. Annelik ile ilgili olarak sorumlulukları uygun şekilde gerçekleştirme ve organize etme yeteneği ebeveyn yeterliliği olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Ebeveynin çocuğun bakım ve yetiştirilmesiyle ilgili sorumlulukları sahip olduğu kapasitesi, inançları yargıları ve kendi kültürüne göre değişiklik göstermektedir. Bu araştırmada çocuğu 5-12 yaş aralığında olan Türkiye ‘de yaşayan göçmen Suriyeli annelerin çocuk eğitimi yeterliliği düzeylerinin farklı değişkenler açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Mardin ilinde yaşayan Suriyeli anneler oluştururken, Türkçe okuryazar ve çalışmaya katılmaya istekli olan anneler içerisinden  seçkisiz örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen 130 anne araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri "Genel Bilgi Formu" ve "Çocuk Eğitimi Yeterliliği Ölçeği (ÇEYÖ)" aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler SPSS 24.0 paket programı ile değerlendirilmiş olup, verilerin analizinde tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve Tukey HSD testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları, annelerin çocuk eğitimi yeterliğinin annelerin yaşına ve çocuğun kaldığı kişilere göre farklılaşmadığını ortaya koymuştur. Anne eğitim durumu değişkenine göre çocuğu tanıma ve çocuğu yönlendirme alt boyut puan ortalamalarında ve çocuk sayısı değişkenine göre ise çocuğu geliştirme alt boyut puan ortalamalarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark olduğu saptanmıştır (p<0,05).
