Kurumsal Kalite Faktörlerinin Ekonomik Büyüme Üzerindeki Etkisi: Körfez Ülkeleri Örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Körfez İşbirliği Konseyi üyesi Bahreyn, Kuveyt, Umman, Katar, Suudi Arabistan ve Birleşik Arap Emirliklerinde, mülkiyet haklarının güvenceye alınması, hesap verebilir siyasi çerçevenin oluşturulması, yolsuzlukların önlenmesini sağlayacak altyapının tesisi ve siyasi özgürlüklerin güvence altına alınması gibi çeşitli kurumsal kalite faktörlerinin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkilerinin panel veri analizi kullanılarak “Esnek Genelleştirilmiş En Küçük Kareler Yöntemi” FGLS ile tahmin edilmesidir. 1995-2014 dönemine ilişkin verilerin kullanıldığı bu çalışma neticesinde, işbu altı Körfez Arap ülkesinde, “İfade Özgürlüğü ve Hesap Verme Sorumluluğu” ile “Yolsuzluğun Kontrolü” kurumsal kalite değişkenlerinin ekonomik büyüme üzerinde pozitif ve anlamlı etkilerinin bulunduğu, “Hukukun Üstünlüğü” ile “Düzenlemelerin Kalitesi” kurumsal kalite değişkenlerinin ekonomik büyüme üzerinde negatif ve anlamlı etkilerinin bulunduğu, “Politik İstikrar ve Şiddet Yokluğu” ile “Yönetimin Etkinliği” kurumsal kalite değişkenlerinin ise ekonomik büyüme üzerinde anlamlı etkilerinin bulunmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The Impact of Institutional Quality Factors on Economic Growth: The Case of the Gulf Countries

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of various institutional quality factors on economic growth are estimated by the "Flexible Generalized Least Squares Method" FGLS using panel data analysis in the member of the Gulf Cooperation Council Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, such as securing property rights, establishing accountable political frameworks, establishing infrastructure to prevent corruption and securing political freedom. In the context of this study using data for the period 1995-2014, in these six Gulf Arab Countries, it has been concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between economic growth and the institutional quality variables of “Voice and Accountability” and “Control of Corruption”, there is a negative and significant relationship between economic growth and the institutional quality variables of “Rule Of Law” and “Regulatory Quality” and there is a no significant relationship between economic growth and the institutional quality variables of “Political Stability and Absence of Violence ” and “Government Effectiveness”.
