Evaluation Process

Article Submission Phase

1. Studies prepared to be published in SLJ should be uploaded to the system via DergiPark and forwarded to the journal editor. All stages, including peer review, are carried out through DergiPark.
2. The work submitted for publication in SLJ must not have been previously published or sent for publication anywhere.

Preliminary Review Phase

4. All works submitted for publication in the journal are examined in the iThenticateplagiarism program. As a result of this review, the plagiarism/similarity rate can be up to 20%. Works with a plagiarism/similarity rate above 20% are directly rejected by the editorial board.
5. Works that pass the plagiarism/similarity examination are subjected to preliminary evaluation by the editorial board in terms of the conditions specified in the publication principles. The deficiencies identified during the preliminary evaluation phase must be completed by the authors within 15 days. Otherwise, the editorial board has the right to reject the work.

Peer Review Phase

6. The works sent with the request for publication in the journal are not published without the positive opinion of the two referees determined by the blind referee system or the corrections suggested by the referees. When one of the referees gives a positive and the other negative opinion, the work is sent to a third referee.
7. The period given to the referees for evaluation is 30 days and this period can be extended for another 15 days if necessary. If the referee evaluation report is not sent within the time limit, a new referee will be appointed by the SLJ Editor.
8. The time allowed for the authors to complete the corrections specified in the evaluation report sent by the referee is 15 days. If the author does not complete the corrections in due time, the editorial board has the right to reject the work.
