Web of Science Tabanlı Sağlık Turizmi Araştırmalarının Sistematik Değerlendirmesi

Year 2025, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 137 - 157

Abstract

Veri tabanında yapılan taramalarda "health tourism", "healthy life tourism", "well-being tourism", "wellbeing tourism" ve "wellness tourism" anahtar kelimeleri kullanılmıştır. Yapılan tarama sonucunda 503 araştırmaya ulaşılmış, dışlama ölçütleri dikkate alındığında nihai ulaşılan çalışma sayısı 28’dir.
Araştırma sonucuna göre sağlık turizminde özellikle son dönemde turizm deneyimi (%9,6), turist memnuniyeti (%8,2), tekrar ziyaret etme niyeti (%6,8), turizm motivasyonu, algılanan değer, hizmet kalitesi ve COVID-19 (%4,1) öne çıkmaktadır. Bu çeşitlilik, sağlık turizminin artık yalnızca tıbbi hizmet sunumuyla değil; aynı zamanda turistlerin yaşadığı deneyim kalitesi, genel memnuniyet düzeyi, tekrar ziyaret etme eğilimleri, seyahat motivasyonları, hizmetten algıladıkları değer ve pandemi sonrası güven algısı gibi psikososyal ve davranışsal unsurlarla da yakından ilişkili olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Aynı zamanda elde edilen sonuçlar sağlık turizmi alanında son dönemde giderek artan akademik ilginin farklı boyutlara odaklandığını göstermektedir.

Systematic Review of Web of Science-Based Health Tourism Research

Year 2025, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 137 - 157

Abstract

Health tourism is a branch of tourism that contributes to the growth of health institutions by evaluating the international patient potential that arises as a result of the need for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation services. The fact that individuals travel outside their hometowns to receive treatment has caused this field to gain more and more importance. Health tourism, which has developed more rapidly compared to other tourism sectors in recent years, has become an important field of study for scientists and researchers.
This systematic review study aims to examine the research conducted on health tourism in the world and in Turkey from a conceptual perspective. In this context, the Web of Science database was scanned to access relevant research and the studies published between January 2024 and February 2025 were examined. The keywords "health tourism", "healthy life tourism", "well-being tourism", "wellbeing tourism" and "wellness tourism" were used in the searches conducted in the database. As a result of the scan, 503 studies were reached, and when the exclusion criteria were taken into account, the final number of studies reached was 28.
According to the research results, tourism experience (9.6%), tourist satisfaction (8.2%), revisit intention (6.8%), tourism motivation, perceived value, service quality and COVID-19 (4.1%) stand out in health tourism, especially in the recent period. This diversity reveals that health tourism is no longer only related to the provision of medical services; but also to psychosocial and behavioral elements such as the quality of tourists' experience, general satisfaction level, revisit tendencies, travel motivations, perceived value from the service and post-pandemic trust perception. At the same time, the results obtained show that the increasing academic interest in the field of health tourism in recent years focuses on different dimensions.
