Körfez İşbirliği Konsey Üyesi Ülkelerin Turizm Performanslarının Seyahat ve Turizm Gelişmişlik Endeksi Üzerinden PSI ve Entropi Tabanlı TOPSIS ile Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Körfez İşbirliği Konsey üyesi ülkelerinin (Suudi Arabistan, Birleşik Arap Emirlikleri, Katar, Bahreyn, Kuveyt ve Umman) turizm performansları Seyahat ve Turizm Gelişmişlik Endeksi (TTDI) üzerinden Tercih Seçim Endeksi (PSI) ile değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın verileri Dünya Ekonomik Forumu TTDI 2024 Raporu’ndan alınmıştır. Çalışmada ayrıca TTDI’nın 17 alt göstergesi için Entropi Yöntemi ile ağırlıklandırma yapılmış, en önemli kriterler belirlenmiştir. Turizm performans sıralamasında Birleşik Arap Emirlikleri ilk sırada yer almıştır. En önemli kriter, Turist hizmetleri ve Altyapı olmuştur. Bu çalışmanın, ülkelerin turizm performanslarının TTDI üzerinden Çok Kriterli Karar Verme (ÇKKV) yöntemleri ile değerlendirilmesine yönelik çok az sayıdaki çalışmayla birlikte literatüre anlamlı bir katkı sunacağı düşünülmektedir.

Evaluation of the Tourism Performances of Gulf Cooperation Council Member Countries through the Tourism and Travel Development Index Using PSI and Enropy-Based TOPSIS

Abstract

In this study, the tourism performances of the Gulf Cooperation Council member countries (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman) were evaluated with the Preference Choice Index (PSI) based on the Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI). The data for the study were obtained from the World Economic Forum’s TTDI 2024 Report. In the study, the 17 sub-indicators of the TTDI were also weighted using the Entropy Method to determine the most important criteria. The United Arab Emirates ranked first in the tourism performance ranking. The most important criterion was Tourist Services and Infrastructure. This study is expected to make a significant contribution to the literature, along with the very few studies on the evaluation of countries' tourism performances through TTDI using Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods.
