Therefore, the recommendations of the International Standards for Editors and Authors of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) should be taken into account in scientific articles submitted to the SJDH journal.

Preparation of Manuscript
The language of the journal is English, and there is no page limit for the manuscript. As a guideline: research articles should not be longer than 25 pages, and 7 figures + tables. For theoretical manuscripts a maximum of 30 pages and 10 figures + tables is suggested.
Times New Roman font must be used for all parts, and the font size must be 12 in general. Line spacing must be 1,5 and no space among the paragraphs. Author(s) should use these specific styles for some parts (title, abstract, author names, keywords, and etc.) of the manuscript. The detailed information about these styles can be found in the template file.
Abstract section of the manuscript should be between 150 and 300 words. Paragraphs should start with indentation (see template).
The full name(s) of the author(s) should be given. In addition; the e-mail address(es), affiliation(s), and ORCID's of all author’s should be provided. Keywords should start with a “Keywords” title and should not exceed six keywords.
The citations should be given in APA7 Style. Authors can get help from citation management applications/tools when preparing their papers. The title of the citations section must be “References”.
Tables should be centered in the page. Table number and caption should be written above the table with Times New Roman (font size 12). Tables should be cited with their full name like “As seen in Table 1” or like “As seen in Tables 3 and 4”.
Figures should be centered in the page. Figure number and caption should be written below the figure with Times New Roman (font size 12). They should be cited with their full name like “As seen in Figure 1” or like “As seen in Figures 3 and 4”.
Equations should be aligned left. Equation number should be written inside parenthesis and placed to the right side of the equation. Equations should be cited with their full name like “As seen in Equation 1” or like “As seen in Equations 3 and 4”.
IN TEXT CITATION:
The in-text citation includes the author(s) and the year of publication. The detailed guide about APA7 in text citation is given below:
A Work by One Author
The APA manual recommends the use of the author-date citation structure for in-text citation references:
As Demir (2025) mentions...
….. (Demir, 2025).
A Work by Two Authors
Name both authors in the signal phrase or in parentheses each time you cite the work. Use the word "and" between the authors' names within the text and use the ampersand in parentheses:
Research by Kırlangıçoğlu and Döker (2006) supports...
….. (Kırlangıçoğlu & Döker, 2006).
A Work by Three or More Authors
List only the first author’s name followed by “et al.” in every citation, even the first, unless doing so would create ambiguity between different sources:
…. (Dennis et al., 1993).
Dennis et al. (1993) suggest ...
Multiple Works in the Same Parentheses
List sources alphabetically, separated by semicolons:
…. (Brown, 2018; Miller & Johnson, 2019; Smith, 2020).
Same Author, Same Year
Add lowercase letters after the year:
(Smith, 2020a, 2020b)
Corporate Author or No Author
Use the first few words of the reference (title or organization name). Italicize book, report, or webpage titles:
… (WHO, 2020).
…. (“Digital Mapping in Cities,” 2021).
Direct Quotations
With page number:
(Johnson, 2019, p. 24)
