Abstract

Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinde bağlanma stilleri ile teknoloji bağımlılığı arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Yöntem: Nicel araştırma desenine dayalı olarak yürütülen bu tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel çalışma, çevrim içi anket yoluyla rastgele seçilen 520 üniversite öğrencisinden elde edilen verileri kapsamaktadır. Veri toplama sürecinde Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Üç Boyutlu Bağlanma Stilleri Ölçeği ve Teknoloji Bağımlılığı Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 26 programı aracılığıyla betimsel istatistikler, korelasyon ve çoklu regresyon analizleriyle değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırma bulguları, erkek katılımcıların kaçınan bağlanma ve çevrimiçi oyun bağımlılığı düzeylerinin kadınlara kıyasla anlamlı şekilde daha yüksek olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Yaş değişkeninin bağlanma stilleri ve teknoloji bağımlılığı üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisi bulunmamıştır. Ayrıca, ebeveynlerin eğitim düzeyinin teknoloji bağımlılığıyla ilişkili olduğu saptanmıştır. Teknoloji ile geçirilen süre ve sanal ortama maruz kalma, teknoloji bağımlılığı düzeyini artıran faktörler arasında yer almıştır. Çalışmada bağlanma stilleri ile teknoloji bağımlılığı arasında da anlamlı ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir; güvenli bağlanma stili teknoloji bağımlılığı ile negatif ve zayıf düzeyde, kaçınan bağlanma stili pozitif ve zayıf düzeyde, kaygılı-kararsız bağlanma stili ise pozitif ve orta düzeyde ilişkilendirilmiştir. Ayrıca, bağlanma stillerinin teknoloji bağımlılığı üzerinde anlamlı yordayıcı bir rol oynadığı belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Elde edilen bulgular, bireylerin erken dönem bağlanma stillerinin teknoloji bağımlılık durumlarını etkileyebileceğine işaret etmektedir. Elde edilen sonuçların, teknoloji bağımlılığına yönelik önleyici ve müdahale temelli çalışmalar açısından yol gösterici olması beklenmektedir.

AN EXAMİNATİON OF THE RELATİONSHİP BETWEEN ATTACHMENT STYLES AND TECHNOLOGY ADDİCTİON AMONG UNİVERSİTY STUDENTS

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between attachment styles and technology addiction among university students. Method: It was designed as a quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional research. Data were collected through an online survey from a randomly selected sample of 520 university students. The data collection instruments included a Personal Information Form, the Three-Dimensional Attachment Styles Scale, and the Technology Addiction Scale. The gathered data were analyzed using SPSS version 26, applying descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression analyses. Results: The findings revealed that male participants had significantly higher levels of avoidant attachment and online gaming addiction compared to female participants. Age was not found to have a significant effect on attachment styles or technology addiction. However, parental education level was found to be associated with technology addiction. Time spent using technology and exposure to digital environments were identified as factors that increased the level of technology addiction. Significant relationships were also observed between attachment styles and technology addiction: secure attachment was negatively and weakly associated with technology addiction, avoidant attachment was positively and weakly associated, and anxious-ambivalent attachment was positively and moderately associated. Moreover, attachment styles were found to be significant predictors of technology addiction. Conclusion: These findings suggest that individuals’ early attachment styles may influence their susceptibility to technology addiction. The results are expected to provide guidance for preventive and intervention-based strategies targeting technology addiction.
