Patterns of the influence of seismic activity in the Sheki-Zagatala zone on the hydrogeochemical regime of groundwater (2018–2025)

Abstract

This article examines the impact of earthquakes in the Sheki-Zagatala seismic zone on the hydrogeochemical characteristics of groundwater. A comparative analysis of seismic events recorded in different years and the results of geochemical monitoring is conducted. It is established that anomalies in hydrogeochemical parameters are formed in conjunction with tectonic processes, and their nature depends on the geological and hydrogeological features of the region. The results of the study demonstrate that long-term and systematic groundwater monitoring is essential for studying seismic processes and holds promise for identifying potential precursors.
