PATIENT SAFETY CULTURE UNDERSTANDING IN TURKEY AND THE WORLD

Öz

For the development of patient safety culture, which has a very important place in the success of health institutions, patient-focussed, safe, effective, technological equipment brought by the modern age and equal distribution of information bring along a number of norms. Today, patient safety is recognized as a priority issue in the field of health services worldwide. The aim of this study is to emphasize the importance of patient safety in the establishment of patient safety culture and practices in health service delivery in Türkiye and in the world, to examine the quality improvement strategies in this regard in detail and to emphasize the importance of patient safety in health institutions.

TÜRKİYE’DE VE DÜNYA’DA HASTA GÜVENLİĞİ KÜLTÜRÜ ANLAYIŞI

Öz

Sağlık kurumlarının başarılı olmasında oldukça önemli bir yere sahip olan hasta güvenliği kültürünüm gelişmesi için hasta odaklı, güvenli, etkili, modern çağın getirdiği teknolojik donanım ve bilgiyi eşit dağılımlı olarak sunulması bir takım normları da beraberinde getirmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, hasta güvenliği olgusunun önemi üzerinde durularak Türkiye’de ve Dünya’da sağlık hizmetleri sunumunda hasta güvenliği kültürü ile uygulamalarının oluşturulmasındaki önemi ve bu konuda kalite geliştirme stratejilerinin ayrıntılı olarak incelenerek hasta güveninin sağlık kurumlarındaki önemi vurgulanmaya çalışılmıştır. Türkiye’de son yıllarda hasta güvenliği kültürü kavramı kalite standartları yönetim birimlerinin üzerinde titizlikle durduğu bir konu olup sağlık kurumlarındaki risk faktörlerinin ileri düzeyde olmasından ötürü tıbbi hataların artış göstermesi hasta güvenliğinin önem kazanmasını sağlamıştır. Risklerden ötürü meydana gelen hataların öngörülmesi ve bu duruma bağlı hataların önceden önlenebilmesi, sağlık hizmetlerinin daha nitelikli ve güvenli biçimlerde sunulabilmesi için başta sağlık yöneticilerine ve çalışanlarına başlıca görev ve sorumluluklar düşmektedir.
