AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON ANALYSYS OF DIFFERENCES OF THE EFFECT LEVELS OF MPOWER POLICIES ON THE DESIRE TO SMOKE OF THE YOUNG SMOKERS BY NEURO VISUALISATION TECHNIQUES

Abstract

Purpose of this study is to determine the differences of the effect levels of the MPOWER policies on the desire to smoke of the young smokers. The basic assumption of the study is to say that the six visuals produced within the scope of MPOWER policies have different effect levels on the desire to smoke as compared with the price visual. Within that context first the addiction theories and interventions of the state are surveyed and the effect levels of MPOWER policies applied in our country are experimentally measured on 10 female and 10 male right-handed volunteer young smokers between ages 18-25. In the experimental study the EEG (Electroencephalography) Method is used. By EEG method the average values related with the bands AF3, F7, F3, F4, F8, AF4 of the pre-frontal lobe are obtained. Five hypotheses defined by using the conceptual model formed within the frame of the purpose of the study and the basic assumption are analysed by the method ANOVA, and Hypotheses H1, H2, H3 and H5 are accepted and H4 is rejected. In analysis of the analysis results obtained by the EEG method used in the study by help of the questionnaire method the descriptive statistics are employed. Besides that in this survey also the data related with average values of the right, left and pre-frontal lobes of the young woman and man smokers are separately analysed and they revealed consistency with the data obtained by the ANOVA Analysis Method.

MPOWER POLİTİKALARININ GENÇ SİGARA KULLANICILARININ SİGARA İÇME İSTEĞİ ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİ DÜZEYİ FARKLILIKLARININ NÖROGÖRÜNTÜLEME TEKNİKLERİYLE ANALİZ EDİLMESİNE DAİR DENEYSEL BİR ÇALIŞMA

Abstract

Çalışmanın amacı, genç sigara kullanıcılarının sigara içme isteği üzerinde MPOWER politikalarının etki düzeyi farklılıklarının belirlenmesidir. Çalışmanın temel varsayımı, sigara içme isteği üzerinde MPOWER politikaları kapsamında oluşturulan altı görsel ile fiyat görselinin farklı düzeylerde etkide bulunduğudur. Bu kapsamda öncelikle bağımlılık teorileri ve devlet müdahalesi konuları incelenmiş olup ülkemizde uygulanan MPOWER politikalarının etki düzeyleri 18-25 yaşları arasında sağ elini kullanan 10 kadın ve 10 erkek genç sigara kullanıcısının gönüllü katılımlarıyla deneysel olarak ölçülmüştür. Deneysel çalışmada EEG(Elektroensefalografi) yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. EEG yöntemiyle genç sigara kullanıcılarının prefrontal lob bölgesinde bulunan AF3, F7, F3, F4, F8, AF4 bantlarına ilişkin ortalama değerler elde edilmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı ve temel varsayımı kapsamında oluşturulan kavramsal modele göre belirlenen beş hipotez ANOVA yöntemiyle analiz edilerek H1, H2, H3 ve H5 kabul edilmiş H4 reddedilmiştir. Çalışmada kullanılan EEG yöntemine ilişkin analiz sonuçlarını desteklemek amacıyla kullanılan anket yöntemiyle elde edilen verilerin analiz edilmesinde tanımlayıcı istatistiklerden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmada ayrıca deneye katılan kadın ve erkek genç sigara kullanıcılarının sağ, sol ve ön frontal lob ortalamalarına ilişkin veriler de ayrı ayrı analiz edilmiş olup ANOVA analiz yöntemiyle elde edilen verilerle tutarlılık göstermektedir.
