Abstract

Gossip as a concept of socially undeniable reality which is overloaded with negative sense the social life. Gossip is defined as a conversation of what the subject is detraction or blaming. Yet, gossip in organizational life could be perceived in different forms including informal communication type. In this study, the perception of personnel in a higher education institution about gossip and its instrumentality were questioned. Questionnaire consisting of 19 questions were developed and applied in three faculties. The study was considered to produce results about instrumentality of gossip in organizations and to contribute Turkish management literature which is poor regarding the subject of this study.

ÖRGÜTSEL YAŞAMDA DEDİKODUNUN ALGILANIŞI VE ARAÇSALLIĞI

Abstract

Sosyal hayatta genellikle olumsuz bir anlam yüklenen dedikodu örgütsel yaşamda varlığı inkar edilemez bir gerçektir. Dedikodu, “konusu çekiştirme ya da kınama olan konuşma” şeklinde tanımlanmaktadır. Oysa örgütsel yaşamda, dedikodu, informal iletişim biçimi de dahil olmak üzere farklı biçimlerde algılanabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada bir yüksek öğretim kurumunda dedikodunun bireylerin kavrama ilişkin genel algısı ve örgütsel yaşamdaki araçsallığına ilişkin algıları sorgulanmıştır. Toplam 19 sorudan oluşan bir anket formu geliştirilmiş ve toplam üç fakültede akademik personele uygulanmıştır. Türk yönetim yazınında fazlaca çalışılmamış olan bu konunun irdelenmesinin, örgütsel yaşamda dedikodunun araçsallığını ortaya koyacağı ve bu anlamda literatüre katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmüştür.
