Abstract
In every society that has the distinction between "the ruler" and " the ruled"; there
have been arguments on the source of the representation. The system of representation
becomes a more important matter in democracies. Different types of democracies have
different approaches to the way to place the representation concept. The quality and the
results of the relationship between the electrote and the representatives concretize the
definition of the representation concept. The recent developments in communication
makes it easy for elector to reflect his/her will on the system.

Abstract
Yöneten-yönetilen ayrımının bulunduğu en basit toplumlardan en karmaşık toplumlarda, yönetilenler adına iktidarı kullanan yöneticilerin bu yetkisinin kaynağı, üzerinde çok tartışılan bir konu olmuştur. Kısaca "temsil" olarak adlandırılabilecek bu sorun demokratik devletlerde daha da önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Farklı demokratik yönetim biçimleri temsil kavramına değişik yaklaşımlar getirmişlerdir. Bu bağlamda temsil kavramını açıklayan farklı teoriler oluşmuştur. Temsil eden ile temsil edilen arasındaki ilişkinin niteliği ve sonuçları da temsil kavramının somutlaşmasında önem taşımaktadır. Bilim ve teknik alanındaki gelişmelerin iletişim devrimi yarattığı günümüzde ise bireyin kendi iradesini yönetime yansıtması kolaylaşmaya başlamıştır.
