Author Guidelines

• Submissions to the journal must not exceed 9,000 words. In cases where a manuscript exceeds this limit, the decision of the Editorial Board shall prevail.

• Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the footnote citation style of the ISNAD Citation System (2nd Edition). The in-text citation system (APA) is not used in our journal.

• Manuscripts prepared for publication must be written in Microsoft Office Word, using Times New Roman font style, and saved in “.doc” or “.docx” format. In articles written in Arabic and in Arabic quotations within Turkish or English articles, the Traditional Arabic font must be used.

• Page margins must be set to 3 cm on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right).

• Author information must include the author’s academic title, affiliation (university, faculty, and department), city, e-mail address, and ORCID number.

• In all headings, including “Introduction,” “Conclusion,” and “References,” only the first letter of each word should be capitalized. Except for the main title (Turkish–English), “Introduction,” “Conclusion,” and “References,” all other headings must be numbered.

• The Turkish/English main title must be 14 pt. “Abstract/Öz” and “Keywords/Anahtar Kelimeler,” as well as all other headings in the text, must be 12 pt. All headings must be in bold.

• The main text, the content of the Abstract/Öz, and the Keywords/Anahtar Kelimeler must be in 12 pt font size and single-spaced. Footnotes must be in 10 pt and single-spaced.

• The Abstract/Öz must be 250–300 words, written in a single paragraph. It should clearly state the subject, scope, significance, aim, and methodological framework of the study. In Arabic articles, both a Turkish “Öz” and an English “Abstract” must be provided.

• The word “Keywords” must be written as one word. There must be five (5) keywords (English-Turkish), and the first keyword must indicate the academic discipline/field. A period must be placed at the end of the keywords.

• Except for the English title, English Abstract, and Keywords, Arabic words, terms, author names, and book titles appearing in the Turkish Abstract, Keywords, and throughout the text must not be transliterated. Circumflex accents and straight/curly apostrophes should be used only when necessary and consistently.

• “Introduction” and “References” must begin on a new page.

• Paragraph indentation must be 1 cm throughout the text.

• Paragraph spacing must be 6 pt.

• Quotations longer than three lines (block quotations) must be placed within double quotation marks, written in 10 pt font size, aligned with the normal paragraph on the right, and indented 1 cm from both left and right margins.

• Works listed in the References must be arranged alphabetically and formatted according to ISNAD-2. The first line must have a 1 cm hanging indent. All sources, including those originally written in Arabic, must be written in the Latin alphabet, and careful attention must be paid to compliance with ISNAD-2, accuracy, and accessibility.

• All religious terms and author names must follow the spelling used in the Diyanet İslam Ansiklopedisi (DİA) and must be written consistently throughout the text.

• In the English title, English Abstract, and Keywords, the spelling of proper names, book titles, and concepts must conform to the Encyclopaedia of Islam, 3rd Edition.

• For other commonly used Turkish words, the standards of the Turkish Language Association (TDK) must be followed, especially regarding circumflex accents and word-final letters.

• Book reviews must include a 50-150 word Turkish and English abstract. The References section must contain at least one work (which may be the reviewed book itself).

Manuscripts submitted to our journal must strictly comply with the announced template. Submissions that do not conform to the journal template will be rejected without review.
