Effects of organic conditioners on soil aggregate stability of acid, neutral and alkaline soils
Öz
This research was carried out at Çukurova General Directory Agricultural during 2005-2006 growing seasons. In the present study, This study was carried out to determine the effects of town waste, tobacco waste and rice husk compost applications on soil aggregate stability in soils having acid, neutral and alkaline pH under greenhouse and laboratory conditions. Surface soil samples (0-20 cm) used in this study were taken from different fields having acid, neutral and alkaline pH in Samsun region. The soil samples subjected to this research are medium in texture, acid, neutral and alkaline in pH, none and very slightly saline in EC, low and medium in organic matter content, and high and low in lime content. In this study conducted according to split block design, tobacco waste, rice husk compost and municipal solid waste were incorporated into the acid, neutral and alkaline soils in four different rates (0, 2.5, 5.0 and 7.5%) and two replicates. After a month of the incubation period, lettuce plant were grown in the pots. According to the type and application rates, organic conditioners increased aggregate stability values and soil resistance to erosion. The effectiveness of applications were change according to reactions of soils and applications rates. The most effective treatment was the 7.5% application rate of tobacco waste to increase aggregate stability value according to control in Tepecik soil.
