The manuscripts that are sent to be evaluated for publication in the GSU Transactions on Computer Science and Applications would be prepared according to the rules stated below:
- Manuscripts should be in English. The text should be in a double-column format as a Microsoft Word document, or you can use our LaTeX template (see the journal's home page). Download the Manuscript Template and Copyright Transfer Form.
- The title of the article is to be written first in bold with font size 16. The title should be concise and informative. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.
- Author(s) name(s), name of the current institution, department name, and e-mail address are to be filled in on the online registration form. Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure that phone number(s) (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address. Contact details must be kept up to date by the corresponding author.
- A concise and factual abstract is required. The abstract should state the purpose of the research, the principal results, and the major conclusions. Abstracts should not exceed 350 words.
- A Graphical abstract is optional and should summarize the contents of the article in a concise, pictorial form designed to capture the attention of a wide readership online. The authors must provide images that clearly represent the work described in the article. Graphical abstracts should be submitted as a separate file in the online submission system. Preferred file types: TIFF, EPS, and PDF files.
- Authors are invited to submit keywords (3 to 6) associated with their papers.
- Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2, ...), 1.2, etc. (the Acknowledgements, Appendices, and References are not included in section numbering). Use this numbering also for internal cross-referencing: do not just refer to 'the text'. Any subsection may be given a brief heading. Each heading should appear on its own separate line.
- The structure of the manuscript following the abstract should be as follows:
- Manuscripts should include the following sections:
- Title
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction: Background, problem statement, objectives. State the objectives of the work and provide adequate background information. Avoid a detailed literature review or summary of results in this section.
- Related Work (if applicable)
- Methodology / Materials and Methods: Materials, procedure, analytical framework. Provide sufficient detail to allow reproducibility. Previously published methods should be cited, with only relevant modifications described.
- Results: Data presentation, figures, tables. Present results clearly and concisely.
- Discussion: Interpretation, comparison with literature. Discuss the significance of the results without repeating them. A combined “Results and Discussion” section may be appropriate. Avoid excessive citations and unnecessary discussion of previously published work.
- Conclusion: Summary, implications, recommendations, future work. Present the main conclusions in a brief section. This may stand alone or be included within a Discussion or Results and Discussion section.
- References
- Appendices: If there is more than one appendix, they should be identified as A, B, (Appendix A, Appendix B, etc. If there is only one appendix, no need for identification as 1). Formulae and equations in appendices should be given separate numbering: Eq. (A.1), Eq. (A.2), etc.; in a subsequent appendix, Eq. (B.1) and so on. Similarly for tables and figures: Table A.1; Figure A.1, etc.
Acknowledgments: Collate acknowledgments in a separate section at the end of the article before the references. List here those individuals who provided help during the research (e.g., providing language help, writing assistance, or proofreading the article, etc.). - [Section titles may be adapted according to the nature of the study.]
- Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text. Place footnotes to tables below the table body and indicate them with superscript lowercase letters.
- Make sure you use uniform lettering and sizing in the figures. Aim to use the following font in your illustrations: Times New Roman. Number the illustrations according to their sequence in the text. Use a logical naming convention for your artwork files. Size the illustrations close to the desired dimensions of the printed version. Submit each illustration as a separate file. Please make sure that artwork files are in an acceptable format (TIFF (or JPEG), EPS (or PDF)) and with the correct resolution (keep to a min. of 300 dpi).
References: Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa).
Reference links: Increased discoverability of research and high-quality peer review are ensured by online links to the sources cited. In order to allow us to create links to abstracting and indexing services, such as Scopus, CrossRef, and PubMed, please ensure that the data provided in the references is correct. Please note that incorrect surnames, journal/book titles, publication year and pagination may prevent link creation. When copying references, please be careful, as they may already contain errors. The use of the DOI is encouraged.
Web references: As a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed. Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given. Web references can be listed separately (e.g., after the reference list) under a different heading if desired, or can be included in the reference list.
References to other publications must be based on APA style and carefully checked for completeness, accuracy, and consistency. You should cite publications in the text: (Adams, 2006) using the first named author's name or (Adams and Brown, 2006) citing both names of two, or (Adams et al., 2006) when there are three or more authors. At the end of the paper, a reference list in alphabetical order should be supplied:

- AI tools may be used for:

- Grammar correction
- Improving clarity and readability
- However, AI tools must not be listed as authors. Authorship requires substantial intellectual contribution, accountability, and responsibility for the content of the work.
- Authors are fully responsible for:
- The accuracy of the content
- The integrity of data and analysis
- The originality of the manuscript
- Proper citation of sources
- If AI tools are used in the preparation of the manuscript, authors must include a statement in the manuscript (e.g., in the Acknowledgments section) specifying:
- The name of the AI tool
- The purpose for which it was used
- Example statement:
- AI-assisted language editing was used to improve the clarity of this manuscript. The authors remain fully responsible for the content.
- Failure to disclose AI usage when applicable may result in rejection or retraction.
