Ahmet Çay is a full professor in textile engineering at Ege University. His current research interests are textile based carbon materials, electrospun nanofibers, energy interactive textiles and textile recycling.

Dr. Mirela Blaga is a professor at ''Gheorghe Asachi'' Technical University of Iasi, Romania, Faculty of Industrial Design and Business Management, Department of Knitting and Clothing Technology, Head of the faculty Doctoral School and PhD supervisor in the field of functional textiles. Her main areas of expertise are knitting technologies, functional materials, CAD systems for knitting and e-learning in textiles. Dr. Blaga coordinates the faculty's Erasmus EU academic exchange programme for students and professors from more than 40 countries. She is a member of the University Senate from 2016 until 2028.
Dr. Blaga is the TUIASI coordinator of 8 EU Erasmus Plus projects, 3 international and 2 national research projects. She is a member of 12 editorial boards of international journals, an external reviewer for 30 PhD theses of Indian universities, member of 45 scientific committees of international conferences.
She is an expert and Vice-Chair of the EU Commission for the ''Marie Slodowska-Curie Actions'' Horizon Europe programs, since 2011. Prof. Blaga was President of AUTEX (Association of Universities of Textiles in Europe) for the period 2019-2022. She is President of the Romanian section of the International Federation of Knitting Technologists (IFKT), a member of the Chartered Member of Textile Institute of Manchester (Ctext ATI). Dr. Blaga was chairman of the conferences: IFKT Congress 2012, World Textile Conference AUTEX 2015, CORTEP 2024 and organizer of workshops on textile education at the conference „eLearning and Software for Education” ELSE 2013-2023.

Nilgün Özdil 1989 yılında Ege Üniversitesi Tekstil Mühendisliği Bölümü’nden mezun olmuştur. Yüksek Lisans ve doktora eğitimini aynı bölümde tamamlamıştır. 1992 yılından itibaren aynı bölümde öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmaktadır. 1993-1994 yılları arasında Dünya Bankası Endüstriyel Eğitim Projesi kapsamında Bolton Institute/ İngiltere’de çalışmalarda bulunmuştur. Kumaşlarda Fiziksel Kalite Kontrol Yöntemleri başlıklı kitabı vardır. Alanında pek çok makale ve sunumları bulunmaktadır. Tekstil teknolojisi, tekstil testleri, tekstilde kalite kontrol, tekstillerin tutum özellikleri, tekstil ürünlerinin konfor ve termal özellikleri, tekstilde geri dönüşüm konularında çalışmaktadır. 

06.02.1973, İzmir doğumludur. Lisans öğrenimini İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Tekstil Mühendisliği Bölümü’nde Temmuz 1994 yılında, yüksek lisans eğitimini İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, Tekstil Mühendisliği Anabilim Dalı’nda Temmuz 1997 yılında, doktora öğrenimini İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, Tekstil Mühendisliği Anabilim Dalı’nda Aralık 2002 yılında tamamlamıştır. Doktora öğrenimi sırasında 2000 –2002 yılları arasında ABD’de NC State College of Textiles, Nonwovens Cooperative Research ’da ziyaretçi araştırmacı olarak çalışmıştır. Meslek yaşamına İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesinde araştırma görevlisi olarak başlamış, 2003 yılında Yardımcı Doçent, 2007 yılında Doçent ve 2013 yılında Profesör unvanlarını almıştır. 2005-2015 yılları arasında Tekstil Mühendisliği Bölümünün ilk Erasmus Koordinatörü olarak Erasmus Sisteminin, bölümde kuruluşu ve gelişiminde önemli katkıları olmuştur. Tekstil Teknolojileri ve Tasarımı Fakültesi’nde Kasım 2008-Mart 2015 tarihleri arasında akademik işlerden sorumlu Dekan yardımcısı, yine aynı yıllar arasında Tekstil Mühendisliği Bölümünde Bölüm Başkan Yardımcısı olarak görev yapmış ve hemen akabinde Mayıs 2015-Temmuz 2016 arası Rektör Danışmanı olarak devam etmiştir. Temmuz 2016-Ocak 2017 arasında Dekan vekili olarak atandıktan sonra 30 Ocak 2017’de Fakülte’ye Dekan olarak atanmış ve görevini sürdürmektedir. Çalışma alanları, dokuma kumaş ve nonwoven kumaş teknolojisi, kumaş tasarımı, dokuma makinaları, tekstil malzemelerinde geri dönüşüm, kaplama ve laminasyon, tekstilde istatistiki kalite kontrol, tekstil fiziksel testler ile tekstil tabanlı kompozit malzemeleri üzerinedir.
